My SG50 activities
For the entire year, singapore is immersed in the celebratory mood of SG50.
Until when aug finally arrives, it doesn't feel that exciting anymore.
I agreed to my husband's request to go see one of the NDP rehearsals at the Bay.
The whole Bay was full of people, as if there's a carnival.
In fact, there's a food fest, which did not attract a lot of queues.
Instead, people brought their own home cooked food for a picnic.
We sat around with everyone else to watch...
whatever that might fly past...
Look closely for the 20 F-16s forming "50".
Looks strange from this photo but they are the Red Lions who did not get to do their thing on actual day.
And army boys who look totally bored.
We stayed around till nighttime for the fireworks.
On national day itself, we went to an event in our neighborhood. We had coupons to redeem goodie bags. There were games to play but didn't really interest us.
All we did is sign on the banner.
No luck in the lucky draws.
The rest of the day was spent at home. Watched the NDP on tv.
The following mon is a public holiday so we went to the botanic gardens with friends. Orchid garden is free of charge because of SG50.
