Cafes

Cafes are the trend in Singapore lately. Nothing beats having a cup of aromatic coffee in a relaxed environment, I totally get how this trend becomes so popular.

During my 3 weeks break in between jobs, I'm glad I had more chance to soak in this new cafe culture.

1. Dean & Deluca (Mandarin Gallery)

Other than coffee, D&D has pretty decent food and cakes.
I was there on 2 different occasions, the first time we had a complete meal and second time we had some cakes.

2. Whisk (Tiong Bahru)

I was there on an evening after a heavy dinner. I haven't tried the coffee but the tea and cheesecake we ordered was great. Will certainly go back for the cheesecake if I'm in that area.

3. Maim Miam (Westgate)

I only remembered that this cafe is pretty expensive. Yes, the desserts are nice but not really memorable.

3. Chye Seng Huat Hardware

The exterior of this cafe is totally inconspicuous.

We had a long walk in the hot sun as the cafe was quite a walking distance from the MRT station, so we both ordered the iced coffee. This is the most sour coffee I have ever drunk.

4. On The Table

This is a cafe near my office. It is really 格格不入 to see a cafe in this area as it is quite a deserted place with old kopitiams, Indian convenience stores, some autoshops, and some shops that never opened.

5. Group Therapy

This is a nice cafe in Duxton area.  Though I'm not a fan of waffle and pancakes, I find them pretty tasty.

6. 40 Hands cafe

Another cafe in Tiong Bahru. Good coffee and food.

7.  Starbucks

Of course there's Starbucks! It's the classic cafe. This is Starbucks in JB. Mine has the smiley face :) .

8. Hoshino Coffee

I had a quick coffee at Hoshino coffee while waiting for my friend to get her spectacles done.

9. Providore cafe

Another cafe at Mandarin Gallery. The apple crumble was so-so, but the hazelnut cake was very good. It has a nice relaxed atmosphere, great place to spend a leisure weekday.

10. Cedele

This is my first time dining in at Cedele. This day, I ordered a milkshake. I found little specks of black dust in the milkshake which means it uses real vanilla pods... atas.

When I started writing this entry, I didn't expect I can put in 10 cafes. It seems that I had a real "cafe-rush" lately. I'm not sure whether I have this chance again after I start my new job. Hope so.
