Malaysia trip
In the midst of the search of the mysterious MH 370, 13 days after it disappeared, I was forced to travel to Malaysia on Malaysian airlines.
It was a business trip to Kuantan and Kuala Lumpur. Only Firefly flies direct to Kuantan so we have no choice but to book with Malaysian Airlines.
No time to think much, I was at the airport with my colleagues a few days later. We checked in at T2 and I was quite surprised that we still need to take a bus to the plane. When I saw the plane, I knew why.
It was a small plane with propellers, so it couldn't use one of our link bridges anyway.
After a rough 1h flight we landed in Kuantan. After the MH 370 incident, as long as the plane lands safely, I don't really care whether the plane is roomy or clean or whether the landing is smooth. Yes, my expectations have dropped like that.
As soon as we stamped our passports, we met our business partners who came to pick us up. Immediately start work!
We finished our meeting in the evening and the original plan was to spend a night in Kuantan Hyatt Hotel and fly to KL 7am the following morning. One of our business partners planned to drive back to KL and suggested we follow him. It was a good idea, much better than having to wake up at 4am to catch a flight with an empty stomach. It was a 3h drive. We managed to stop at the foot of Genting for dinner because we were all famished. (We didn't take lunch)
We managed to get rooms at PJ Hilton Hotel for a night. 不愧是5-star hotel. The room was of high standard.
I wanted to compliment the good design of the bathroom. It enables you to watch the tv while sitting on the toilet bowl. Brilliant idea.
After a good night's sleep and a satisfying breakfast we continued with our meetings in KL. We left for the airport after lunch and had an uneventful flight back to Singapore on a Malaysian airlines plane.
MH 370 is still no where to be found to date. My heart feels for the friends and family of those on board. The truth of what happened is much needed. May you find your strength and hang on.
