Hong Kong trip (part 2)
Rise and shine on my 2nd day in HK.
While waiting for my friends to get ready, I ventured around the neighborhood. It was a Sunday in the business district of HK, so the streets were quite deserted.
According to our plan, we went to the Michelin-starred 添好运 for morning dim sum.
We first saw this closed shop and got a shock.
Luckily this is not the one. The real one is a few shops down the aisle, couldn't miss it because it's unusually crowded.
Next on our itinerary was the Citygate Outlets at Tung Chung... Bought my long wallet and a pouch from Furla outlet shop.
After shopping, we went to Central to eat dinner at the famous Yung Kee.
I couldn't really appreciate the roast goose. The taste is very similar to roast duck. I guess I'm just doing this because I'm a tourist.
It was raining when we left the restaurant and we decided to make our way back to our hotel. We even managed to do more shopping inside the MTR stations. These tee shirts with cute bear design were from Giordano. Cannot resist buying them, one for me, one for my husband.
When we emerged from the MTR station at Sheung Wan, the rain was pouring very heavily. It was a treacherous walk from the MTR to the hotel.
I spent the rest of the evening drying my jeans and boots with a hair dryer. While busy with that, I saw the news on the "black rain" and hailstorms that took place in Kowloon. Wah, luckily we were not in Kowloon. There were huge traffic jams in the highways because the roads were flooded and vehicles stalled in the middle of the road. A shopping centre's roof even collapsed.
The comfort was the roof over my head and 3 cup noodles I bought this morning at 7eleven, if we ever get trapped in our hotel room. With that, I went to sleep.
