Best buys

If we search on the Internet, there are many advice on what to prepare for a newborn. But there were not much on what mummy needed for the initial period.

Squeeze bottle

This was recommended by my husband's colleague that it'll be very useful for cleaning the wound. I was initially doubtful but bought it anyway because it was just $2. Now it became one of the most important tool which I use several times a day. It was really important but difficult to keep the wound clean. I was glad I had this to clean the wound frequently.

Wet wipes

I am the type who bathe immediately when I reach home from any trip out because I couldn't stand the stickiness on my skin. Not being able to bathe during confinement was one of the biggest torture I know I will have.

The adult wet wipes were given by the hospital during my stay. It seemed to take away dirt and sweat quite well as I felt fresh after using it to wipe my whole body. I ended up using it to wipe myself several times a day as I tend to perspire like crazy all the time.

The green packet is flushable wet wipes. I bought them at the baby fair. The sales person said it was for toddlers getting toilet trained. I bought it to clean my wound as after which I could flush down the toilet bowl, which is much more hygienic. It turned out to be so useful, couldn't imagine what to do without them.

Inflatable seat

Many people told me to just lie down after birth so that the wound could heal faster. But sometimes, it's impossible to just lie down all the time. This really helped as I spent quite some time sitting like during nursing or eating.

Nursing pillow

It took me some time to buy this because it was not cheap. But it was worth it. My baby could be supported more comfortably and latching was also easier.

Cot organizer

Keeps everything I need within reach.
