Dubai Day 2
We decided to go visit the Atlantis. We took the metro and on the way, we saw the snobbish Burj Al Arab. It aims to be the most exclusive hotel in the world. Congratulations, you have done it.
We had to alight the metro at the Mall of Emirates station and got a cab to go into Atlantis.
We didn't see much there...
There was this large aquarium which cost AED 100 to enter. We didn't.
There was a water theme park there too. We didn't go in too.
We did take a short walk along the shoreline and took some photos.
This is interesting right? They made a zebra crossing which leads to no pedestrian way. I crossed the road from the other end to this end, and wondered, hmm... where shall I walk then, on the grass?

There's also an aquarium there which requires an entrance fee. Watching from outside works well enough for me.
Same as last year's Dubai trip, I bought the Garrett popcorn. 3 bags this time.
The free Hotel breakfast really works well for us. It kept us full for a good part of the day. We skipped lunch, and by 3+ in the afternoon, we were just slightly hungry. We didn't want to sit down for a full meal because we had a dinner appointment with my husband's friend at 530pm. We went to the food court and bought a snack and a drink to share.
Found Diaso at the basement. As usual, bought a couple of small items there.
We then made our way to the Dubai Marina to meet up with my husband's friend and his wife. They took us to this unsung restaurant in Jumeirah. The name of the restaurant was Bu Qtair Restaurant. It opens at 630pm everyday, but before that, people will be standing around waiting for them to set up the tables.
What was the attraction?
Just grilled fishes and prawns. Yes, they only serve 2 dishes.
The photo is not doing justice. The fish was fresh and juicy, and the prawns are crunchy.
After the diner, we went to the Madinat Jumeirah to chill.
It was a very pretty place.
There was also a shopping area which was built to resemble the old souq.
Charming al fresco dining by the river.
Really grateful to Reno and Lilian who brought us around and treated to the tasty dinner.
Tomorrow my husband will need to go for his business meeting. I have to plan some programmes for myself.
Like... sleep in the hotel room?
