Ramadan

Last week, my husband and I stopped at Popeyes near our site office to eat dinner. The seating area of the restaurant is still closed for cleaning, so we decided to take away. The waiter over the counter told us we could wait in our cars. This is the first time I got this VIP treatment of people sending orders to my car, which is a very common practice for local Qataris.

Look at this Ramadan special set meal. It consists of 6 pieces chicken, 1 drink, 1 coleslaw, 1 french fries and 1 biscuit. Yes, for one person, QR25 (about SGD 8.60).
We only bought one set to share between us, and it was very filling. I saw all the online articles about how some locals overeat during the Ramadan period. Now I understand why, especially if you are starved the whole day. The resturants are really not helping.

Compliments on my husband new dish. He was really fed up after frying this char kway teow because he burned the garlic, burned the chilli, melted the frying spatula (I really googled to find out what this is called in English, some call it a "pan shovel"), and burned the bottom of the frying pan. But it still tasted nice.
