Nicholas' Life Story
Nicholas graduated with a Bachelor in Arts in 2001, majoring in Social Sciences. He's a intelligent young man with a bright future in front of him.
He joined the finance industry and began to make a lot of money in a short time. As a personal banker, he had a lot of contacts with the rich and famous. One of them was Christine. Christine was a beautiful woman with a established career in the life science industry. She made a lot of money during the SARS period selling medical apparatus. They met, fell in love and got married.
Four years later, they had a private apartment in East Coast, a car and 3 kids (girls and a boy). They lived happily together. Nicholas was still working a banker and doing very well. In his leisure, he liked to go to the gym, swim and modify his car. Christine never deny Nicholas of anything he like. If he likes to modify his car, she will support him, even if the car becomes a loud, irritating, noise-producing machine, she never complain.
On 2005 Christmas, Nicholas decided to bring the family to Phuket to enjoy a holiday. However disaster struck! The Tsunami killed his wife and kids.
He returned to Singapore alone. He lost his memory. He had no recollections of who he was, where he lived and whether he had a family. He was told that he had a house in East Coast, so he stayed there. He was paid a hefty sum from the deaths of his wife and kids, so he didn't need to work. However, he knew in the back of his mind, he should be working. So he told his friends that he's still working as a banker so that he will not look weird.
His parents thought it might be a good thing that he forgot about his dead wife and kids, so they were reluctant to tell him anything. They even went to his house before he came back and threw out all their belongings. They removed everything except a pair of pink slippers. They belonged to Christine.
Nicholas couldn't remembered why he had a pair of lady's slippers in his house. But something told him that he couldn't discard it. The pair of slippers still sit at his doorstep today.
