KL Trip June 2023
On 10 Jun 2023, we made a trip to KL, Malaysia. We took Jetstar flight at 2.50pm because papa has a doc appointment in the morning. We had to take the taxi to pick him up from Mt E before going to the Airport.
We arrived a bit early to walk around Jewel.
Roselle had the chance to play with the T4 slide while Adelle cried disappointedly because she didn't meet the height requirement.
Time for boarding. Adelle's first time on the plane.
Then she just slept all the way. She didn't even eat the Dunkin Donut which I bought for her to eat on the plane.
Taking grab from the KLIA to the hotel is very convenient. We reach the hotel around 6pm. We stayed at Dorsett KL for 2 nights. Frankly speaking it's not a very good hotel, will not stay there again. The room is quite old, with carpet. Location is ok, near Pavilion. But since it's so convenient to grab in KL, location actually doesn't really matter that much.

We left our luggage in the hotel because the room was not ready. We went to meet SJ for dinner at a nearby chinese restaurant, Grand Harbour Restaurant & Banquet (Fahrenheit 88)
The food is good considering they are at Singapore tze char price.
We didn't buy the breakfast buffet. The hotel gave us complimentary because when we tried to check in, our room is not ready. They gave us the option for a double room with a wheeled-in bed, instead of the Family room (1 king + 1 single bed). We rather wait for our original room. And they gave us 2 mornings' complimentary breakfast as apology.
(Pat on my back 😏)
We went to the Batu Caves in the morning. It took about 50 min from the hotel. We were first greeted by a tall gold statue.

We climbed to the top and the inside of the cave was another world. It was wet and cool, very interesting.
Relatives brought us to a nice restaurant.

.... dessert was longan snow mountain....
... took photos at the mall...
... took photos with the twin towers...
.... and watched the musical fountains.
On the third day morning, from our hotel, we walked down Bukit Bintang and reached the Lot 10 shopping mall. The Lot 10 Hutong food court was fairly well-known.
We went back to the hotel to check out at 12noon.
After lunch, we went back to the hotel for a rest. In the afternoon, we took a Grab Chinatown area, Kwai Chai Hong (鬼仔巷) and Petaling Street Market.
Wall art murals at 鬼仔巷
Bought chocolates at Beryls.

We took another Grab to KLCC to have dinner...
.... had a snack before dinner....
.... dinner at Kiki Taiwan Cuisine...
We managed to have it changed to a room on a high floor. Soooooo much better.
The girls enjoyed the nice view too.
We spent the rest of the day just roaming the place. It has certainly changed a lot since I last came up.
The girls were excited that we will go to the Indoor Theme Park the next day.
After lunch back at Genting Highlands food court, the girls took a nap.
Again, randomly chose a place to have dinner. Having porridge and some chinese dishes.
On the 4th day, we took the cable car from Genting down to the Premium Outlet Mall.
wanton mee again. Forgot what Papa ate.
We bought the unlimited rides tickets. They were not interested in all the rides but kept repeating only the ones they like. It became pretty boring for us parents. But oh well, the things we do for our children.
We did mange to convince them to stop for dinner at about 6pm. Another random chinese restaurant nearby.
On the last day, we went to Old Town White Coffee to have breakfast again. I like the curry noodles. Felt cosy to have spicy hot curry in cold weather. I had the exact same thing in the previous morning at the Premium Outlets Mall.
Headed home in a 9.20pm flight. We should have chosen an earlier flight next time because the kids were very tired.
