Taiwan day 3

After breakfast, we went exploring around the Star Villa be as we didnt have a good look after arriving so late the previous night.
The temperature was cool, the mountain scenery was great and the host dog was gentle and obliging. Roselle loves dogs but she was never in such close proximity to one.
The dog was massive and even I could felt its forces even if I got hit by just his wagging tail. Roselle was a bit afraid at first. But love conquered all.

A long steep slope up to our hotel room block. I would have slim calves if I had stayed there a few more days.

We set off from 清境 at 9am and arrived at 日月潭 after 1.5h.

We stopped at the 文武庙.

Prayed to Confucius that Roselle will be blessed with a penchant for learning and attain high moral values.

Then we went to take the cable car to the 九族文化村. The view throughout the cable car ride was spectacular.

There was a theme park which was nearly deserted. Roselle couldn't take most of the rides except 2, the train and the carousel. There was no queue at all. She probably could take as many rides as she want.

She was not used to such rides so she seemed rather wary of her first time experience. She was always frowning. And on the horse, she cried once the music started and wanted to get off. In the end, she sat in the boring carriage with me rather than on the moving horse.

We had wanted to reach the Naruwan Theatre for a performance at 1.20pm but I was worried Roselle didn't take any lunch at this time. So, we stopped for lunch. There was not much choice at that part of the park, I just bought a standard set lunch(NTD250) of bamboo rice, with corm, edamame, pork,  fruit, dessert, small cup of 小米酒,and a iced red tea. Roselle didn't like the bamboo rice, the pork was too oily and tough. She did eat up all the sweet potatoes in the dessert soup and all the oranges though. Daddy and I shared the rest of the food.

I ate the paper on the bamboo rice because it was nearly impossible to tear it off. I hoped it was edible. Daddy assured me that he saw the locals eating the paper as well.

She loved her meat, chicken and fish. Whenever she saw chickens and fishes, she wanted to take extended time to look at them.

We only managed to catch the last 5 min of the dance performance at the Naruwan Theatre. It looked quite interesting but we just couldn't walk any faster. Right now, my calves were still sore from all the uphill walking.

Ending photo of the cultural Village.

We took the cable car back to the Itathao cable car tower. Roselle's battery was really low. She slept for 10 min before I woke her up again to get off the cable car.

We took a few photos near the cable car tower before we proceeded to the hotel...

...... where she knocked out for the next 3h.

While she slept, daddy went to get some snacks from the street below.

The deep fried banana was quite good. The chicken wing stuffed with sticky rice was very pepperish. I really liked the mochi with garlic and bonito flakes.
Whenever I come to Taiwan, I loved to have their iced tea which came in lots of flavours.

Roselle finally woke up after the sun sets. because for 2 days, Roselle didn't eat much, we took pity on her and wanted to find her favourite fish. So we settled on having dinner at our hotel restaurant. Finally her appetite came back on tasting the steam fish, and she had rice and soup alongside. This 2 person set cost NTD500.

After dinner, we walked around the Itathao pier which was just in front of our hotel.

We also tried to walk down the streets. It was about 8 pm plus and the shops were closed or going to close. Bought her an "I love grandma" tee shirt.

Our nights always end with a trip to the 7-11. I bought a packet of milk tea and a box of expensive almond squares for supper.

Tomorrow we will be going to Taipei!
