Last trip to Qatar
Flew back to Qatar in the wee hours of Saturday. The flight was uneventful but the ladies sitting in the row behind us were quite inconsiderate. I dunno what's there to yak and giggle when everyone around you is sleeping on a 10pm to 5am SGT flight. Two rows behind, there was a lady with a kid who went wailing occasionally.
We reached the villa at about 1.30am. The house was in a horrible state. Stale air, hot and dusty. Immediately, I went to the bedroom and switched on the air conditioner. From experience, I knew it would take a long time to cool down the rooms in the summertime. I found a cockroach in the bedroom and screamed for my husband. Now, I couldn't remember whether he killed this one.
After unpacking, I was totally exhausted, I just wanted to wash the dust and sweat off. When I was in the bathroom preparing to take a shower, a 2nd cockroach appeared in the bathtub out of nowhere. It was really creepy. I screamed for my husband. I remembered he killed this one.
After the shower, I found myself on a hot bed with hot sheets and pillows, turning and twisting, unable to sleep, although I was so tired that I wanted to cry. It was already 2am+.
I woke up at nearly 12noon the following day. Woke up to eat something and did a bit of house cleaning. Luckily my husband did all the floor mopping already. Fell back to sleep again from 3pm to 7pm.
The first day in Qatar was not cheerful and I started to miss Singapore.
I don't know which I hate more, this place or my work. Anyway, I'm stuck with both.
Till the end of July.
