Bangkok trip

Our first meal in Bangkok - food court at basement of  Siam Paragon.

Thai food ... phad thai, papaya salad, tom yum gong, green curry, poh piah.

That night, we went to Breeze at the State Tower. The restaurant at the top of the building was full. So we settled with the restaurant at the 52nd level, Breeze. Very pretty place and of course, very expensive. each person paid about S$120. View from our table...

The surprise is, just before we finished our food, there was a firework display. We are actually looking at the fireworks at eye level. Cool.

The dishes were great. We ordered seafood fried rice, french beans, seabass, sweet and sour pork, appetizers were dimsum platter and minced duck with taro. The colorful glasses were sauces.

Coconut ice cream at Chatuchak.

A more humble dinner at a restaurant at Chinatown. Restaurant has photos of Cai Lan and Chow Yuen Fatt at its entrance.

Main dish is dessert - birdnest in coconut juice.

There was a poster for signing our tribute to Steve Jobs at the Apple Store in Gaysorn Shopping Mall. I signed too.

Most parts of Thailand are sufferring from a serious flood. Bangkok has not kena yet but there were a lot of preparation done around the city. This is Platinum Mall.

Lunch just before going to the airport in the afternoon - Coca steamboat at Central World.

I have always looked forward to eating Mango with sticky rice, but throughout the 3 days' trip, we didn't manage to eat it. At the airport, finally I get to eat some, though I'm super full from the steamboat lunch.

A short and enjoyable 3 days' holidays. :D
