4. Gym
Another blame on my work in Doha.
I signed up for a gym package in February 2010. However, I kept having to go to Doha for work so wasn't able to utilize the facilities except when I come back for home trips.
My gym is called Sky Fitness, it's a small gym in Harbour Front Tower 2, just one floor above the cable car boarding. It was relatively small, but it was never overcrowded, so it feels really comfortable.
I was given a series of birthday vouchers by Citibank in January, and one of the vouchers was to try out Sky Fitness. I decided to visit it and sign up for the 2 weeks' trial. At the same time, I did look into commericalized ones like Fitness First, True Fitness or Amore. These seem very convenient as they have many branches all over Singapore, but they are also expensive and crowded. After the trial, I think Sky Fitness is a comfortable place, so I signed a 2 years package, which costs about $67 per month (the longer you sign, the cheaper it will be).
I came back from Doha in Jun this year and has started going to the gym regularly. I'm happy that my fitness has improved significantly. The weight loss is not significant but I guess I should not over-stress myself with counting the kgs. Exercise should be a happy activity.
There is a spa centre. I also have a package with the spa, every 3-4 weeks I will go for a scrub and massage. It's about $80 per session of about 2h. I love the hot stone massage.
A bonus is my office recently moved from Jurong to Pasir Panjang Road and it's now very near to Harbour Front. The nearby Vivocity and Harbour Front Centre are also great places to do shopping. It takes about 20 minutes bus ride to travel from my house to the gym but I guess there are no nearer gyms around unless you include the Clementi Sports Complex (SSC).
This gym has serve my purpose well and I think I will continue to go there. I'm glad I sign up 1.5 years ago.

Many treadmills available, each with dedicated TV, perfect for people who love watching TVs. Makes the time passes very quickly.
There are also classes to join in.

There is a cafe, selling healthy food like salad, sandwiches and smoothies. I hardly eat there.
