Principles
There are some matters which are very important to me but I delayed recording here. I think I shall give myself more time to think over them and accept them. So, I shall not force myself to write about them now. Perhaps after a few weeks/mths, I will find them too trivial to write.
Anyway, as I look over my shoulder now (I'm sitting at Albert's office table), I can see an interesting quote on a calendar,
"On matters of style, swim with the current. On matters of principle, stand like a rock."
Everyone has his own principles that he wishes to keep. You cannot expect others to follow your expectations or demands. If you've read Little Prince, you'll know about the King who demanded his orders to be fulfilled by his subjects only because he knew his orders are reasonable.
"If I ordered a general to fly from one flower to another like a butterfly, or to write a tragic drama, or to change himself into a sea bird, and if the general did not carry out the order that he had received, which one of us would be in the wrong?"
"One much require from each one the duty which each one can perform. Accepted authority rests first of all on reason. If you ordered your people to go and throw themselves into the sea, they would rise up in revolution. I have the right to require obedience because my orders are reasonable."
Yes, the King is wise.
Do not force others to do things they do not want to. Do not endow others with expectations of your own. Accept others as they are.
Live and Let Live.
