Feeling better...

It must have been quite a while since I'm really sick. (I mean, not the usual "sick of work" or "sick of my lifestyle".)

The cause was the site trip on Monday. A really inconsiderate PUB staff parked his van at the sheltered spot where we are supposed to collect the wastewater. We had no choice but to park our truck at the other end of the PST and lost the shelter that could have "saved my life".

屋漏偏逢连夜雨, 船迟又遇打头风

And it had to rain... really heavily.

I knew it was coming. On Tue, I stayed home to study. Hoping frevently that this self-quarantine will suppress it.

On Wed, we went to Koh's Grandfather's wake. I thought I was ok so I was in school the whole day.

And it had to rain again... when we were leaving the wake venue. Caught in the rain again $%#*&~@!

I began to lose my voice on Thursday. Bad sore throat. I was at home for 2 whole days (okok, nearly the whole day. I had to go to the lab to look after the Sabrin-twins in the morning and evening wat) sucking on yucky lozenges.

Sore throat is the scariest thing. It is the first sign of illness. Cough, runny nose, fever, rash etc sure to follow. ~panick~ I had to fight the virus! I'm having exams on Wed!!!

On Sat, it was the peak. Really no voice, very difficult to speak, because the throat was just very irritated and dry.

Today is Sunday, I think I've recovered. I've got my voice back. I can study better now, less drowsy and can concentrate better.

Plus no longer have to endure those lab bullies who 乘人之危 for the last few days. I have noted down what you all have said during the time when I can't rebut.

HAH HAH HAH... I'm back. Time for revenge.

"Some wounds, time cannot heal.

But time can help you get used to the pain."

How true...

A or B? A and B?

Sometimes you wonder why things never go the way you want?

I wonder often.

(Pic from Flight of Discovery. http://www.flightofdiscovery.com/day9/d9slides5.html)

When you wanted A, you can't get it no matter how hard you tried. B falls into your hands but you thought you only want A, so you never learn to appreciate the B you have.

Then...

you start to lose B. And A suddenly seems to be within your reach. But you will rather give up everything in the world to have B again.

Sometimes I marvel at how stupid I can be. I guess I will never know how absurd I am until this absurdity hits me right in the face hard. Real hard.

Am I scared?

I was watching A Dialogue With The Minister Mentor just now. It was INTERESTING. very interesting.

However, I was genuinely more interested in how he answered the questions than what his answers are. I've so wanted to put down my two cents worth here. But I dare not.

You ask me if I'm scared. Yes, I am.

Why?
I wish I can tell you now.

But I think most of you know the answers. :)

How to mend a broken heart?

I was watching Grey's Anatomy yesterday night. If you do watch the show, it's usually very soapy, dramatic and scandalous, which makes it very interesting. Coupled with the just as outrageous Desperate Housewives in the previous timeslot, it's always an entertaining Monday night.

However, one scene in Grey's Anatomy touched me in a way and time I least expected.

The scene is about a middle-aged woman being sent to the hospital because she had a heart-attack. Records have shown that she had the same attack every year on the same day. After some investigations, her doctor, Izzie found that she doesn't have a heart-attack.

The real reason is her best friend had died years ago. On his death anniversary every year, she grieves so much that her heart stop beating. And it's something she does not want to admit because she has a husband and family. He is just a best friend.

Woman, "So can you cure my condition?"
Izzie, "I wish I know how."

We all wish we know how-
How to mend a broken heart.

Hey, stop doing that!

I am greatly perturbed by a scene I've seen several mornings. It's of a woman dumping waste into the canal along AYE.

On a sunny morning with high visibility, it is hard to deny what I've seen. Everytime, I will stare in awe at her actions but unable to do anything because I was more than 100 m away and on the other side of the canal.

I thought she looked like one of the cleaners. I went to the NEA website, planning to lodge a complaint, but I had little idea of how to do it. All I can find is a "Contact us" that doesn't look like a place which will appreciate my feedback. After some mental struggle, I decided against it. I wasn't even sure if she is some contract cleaner under NEA.

My next thought was to report to our NPP. Surely I remembered them saying they're our friendly neighbourhood policemen? (hmm.... I think I heard it when I was in Primary School. It still counts, right?) Maybe they can make more patrols in the morning around the estate or near the canal. May I suggest they be in plain clothes?

Maybe the next time I see it, I will take out my handphone and take a photo. But again, I still have no idea where to make such complaints, I only aim to scare the woman a bit. I told hl this and she suggested that I use a camera instead because she is concerned that the woman may think I'm only sending smses. And she has volunteered to lend me her camera.

Good point. Noted.

I think dumping wastes into the canals is much more serious than other grounds. If someone dump the waste, for example in the void deck. The cleaners can still clear them. But if you dump wastes into a canal, who will clear them?

Hasn't the government tell everyone about the need to protect our watercourse?

I genuinely will call the police if I see this again. Who knows? The policeman may be tall dark and handsome. Haha...

April's Fool

I'm claiming my first victim for April's Fool Day! Guess who is the poor person?

Haha....

Drumroll...

Kun!
Haha... It's really exhilarating! I told her I was pregnant and she really believed. I guessed, one cannot think properly at 2 am in the night. When I'm free, I will paste the conversation up here for memorial sake. Haha...

What a victory.
