Hey, stop doing that!
I am greatly perturbed by a scene I've seen several mornings. It's of a woman dumping waste into the canal along AYE.
On a sunny morning with high visibility, it is hard to deny what I've seen. Everytime, I will stare in awe at her actions but unable to do anything because I was more than 100 m away and on the other side of the canal.
I thought she looked like one of the cleaners. I went to the NEA website, planning to lodge a complaint, but I had little idea of how to do it. All I can find is a "Contact us" that doesn't look like a place which will appreciate my feedback. After some mental struggle, I decided against it. I wasn't even sure if she is some contract cleaner under NEA.
My next thought was to report to our NPP. Surely I remembered them saying they're our friendly neighbourhood policemen? (hmm.... I think I heard it when I was in Primary School. It still counts, right?) Maybe they can make more patrols in the morning around the estate or near the canal. May I suggest they be in plain clothes?
Maybe the next time I see it, I will take out my handphone and take a photo. But again, I still have no idea where to make such complaints, I only aim to scare the woman a bit. I told hl this and she suggested that I use a camera instead because she is concerned that the woman may think I'm only sending smses. And she has volunteered to lend me her camera.Good point. Noted.
I think dumping wastes into the canals is much more serious than other grounds. If someone dump the waste, for example in the void deck. The cleaners can still clear them. But if you dump wastes into a canal, who will clear them?
Hasn't the government tell everyone about the need to protect our watercourse?
I genuinely will call the police if I see this again. Who knows? The policeman may be tall dark and handsome. Haha...

You get a lot of weird characters prowling along AYE, especially that stretch towards NUS. I caught sights of a man peeing and a woman taking a dump out in the open before. One can only assume that they are uber urgent or mentally incapacitated.
Human fertilizer, anyone?
