First step to my Audi Cabriolet
What is the first step to obtaining my dream car?
To get a driving license of course! Haha...
I've put off learning driving for a long time. Everyone tells me I should learn during my Undergraduate years. The main reason I didn't is that I didn't want to use my parents' money. Since Uni 1st year, I've stopped taking pocket money from my parents, surviving on money I earned during vacations and giving tuition lessons. As such, the figure in my savings account was already quite pathetic so I didn't want to aggravate it further. When my financial situation got better, i.e. after I graduated and started working, I knew I should start learning. Moreover, my work as an engineer actually preferred that I'm a driver.
Can you imagine that everytime I needed to travel to site (mainly Bedok WRP) or to the consultant's office, I have to call a cab even though there're
several company vehicles available for use just outside the office? Yah, it's very stupid. Either that, or I have to announce to the whole office that I need someone to drive me out. Usually a lot of technicians/workers will be happy to do it because it is a great opportunity to eat snake, haha. Then one of the engineers (Thomas. Yes, you!) started to nickname me "Princess" because I need an escort everytime I go out. In this context, I guess this nickname is really not worthed being proud of.Then why the bl**dy hell did I not take up driving lessons?!
The usual excuse - too busy.
Finally, I've made my first step. I went down to Bukit Batok Driving Centre to register, open an account, book my final theory test date (Jul 31) and get a Provisional Driving License. Then I booked a lesson with a driving instructor recommended by my cousin.
Yeah! I'm on my way!
