Back from home trip
Made a relatively short trip back to Singapore from 27 Nov to 6 Dec.
I feel like a tourist going back to Singapore. Basically because I don't have to go to work, so I spent the days on my personal things, like going to salon, shopping, meeting up with friends etc. Basked in once-familiar activities which feel a bit foreign now, like taking the MRT, going to the wet market and walking on the streets (there are next-to-none pedestrian walkways in Doha).
I have been using my Blackberry 9000 Bold since June 2009, means it's nearly 3.5 years old. By handphone standards, it has lasted long enough. It has become a bit cranky for the past few months, I've been reluctant to change it as I am not prepared to sign a new contract since I am hardly in Singapore. Last month, my whatsapp crashed and I wasn't able to re-install it, this is the tipping point. I really missed whatsapping with my girlfriends who are in Singapore. Thus, I had the impulse to get a new smartphone.
And I did. I bought iphone 5.
**Erratum, my husband bought it for me.
Now still marveling at how smart these phones are. I guess I'm really out of touch with the handphone technology. Now I feel more patient when I have to wait for very long for my husband's toilet trips in the malls because of my iphone's company.

And I bought a cute cover for it at Queensway shopping centre.
It claimed to be an original work of 幾米.

Back in Doha now.
Baked an interesting cake yesterday. We bought a box of strawberries from Carrefour on Qatar National Day (18 Dec). The strawberries were super sour and nobody wants to eat them as they are. This is expected as they only cost QR5 per box (usually sold at QR20+). So I decided to use them in a cake before they turn bad.
Look like red moulds right?
Strawberries still very sour to stomach in spite of the sweet cake.
